Details

1. start with a DPA1 build that is installed to the default point c:\program
files\Deer Park Alpha 1\ [I used the July 3rd build]

2. use the binary updater to upgrade to a current nightly
For info on how to start using the binary updater
http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/qa/archives/2005/07/deer_park_nighl.html

3. Use the updater to upgrade DPA1. Note that after the upgrade that the updater
updated the files in the Deer Park Alpha 1 folder.

4. Note that that a current nightly installer will install to c:\program
files\Deer Park Alpha 2\

5. The updater should note that Firefox/DP is installed to the default dir and
offer/automatically install to the new Dir

A number of people are likely to download DPA2 which will have the binary update
feature. If they upgrade to 1.1 Final via the updater this will leave them with
Mozilla branded Firefox executables in the Deer Park Alpha 2 folder.

WONTFIX. Just because the default folder is X in the installer doesn't mean
that's where it has to go. The updater doesn't need to know about where the
default install location in the installer is. It also shouldn't move things
anyway, since there's no simple way to discover scripts/shortcuts/etc pointing
to the old location. Changing stuff like this is unnecessary, and only really
affects trunk users, not end users.
