User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050720 Waterwalrus/1.0.6-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050720 Waterwalrus/1.0.6-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.6 In many (but not all) links, where I was previously able to open links into new tabs, this function no longer works. As an example: with your browser configured to load URLs into a new tab with middle-click or ctrl-click, go to http://linuxtoday.com, and then middle-click on any story link in the middle of the page. Expected behavior is that the link should open in a background tab, but instead no links are opened, and nothing happens. This had worked correctly up through Firefox 1.0.4 (did not test under 1.0.5). This does not happen on *all* URLs, though. On the above mentioned site, if you middle click on a *sidebar* link, this will load correctly into a new tab as expected. Also, on links that do not work with middle/ctrl-click, right-clicking and selecting "open link in new tab" will work as expected. LT is not the only site where this happens, have experienced it on various other sites. But LT is the easiest place to duplicate it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Be sure browser is set to open links in new tabs (default behavior in FF?) 2.navigate to http://linuxtoday.com 3.middle-click on a story link, no link will be opened 4.middle-click on a sidebar link, link will open in new tab. Actual Results: step 3: nothing step 4: opened in new tab Expected Results: step 3: open link in new tab step 4: open link in new tab

This bug started in 1.0.5 and still strong in 1.1 alpha 2. Personaly, it's *very* annoying for everyone how uses open in new tab a lot (right clicking and selecting context menu entry becomes annoying when you expect a simple middle-click to do the job).

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050726 Firefox/1.0+ ID:2005072606 WFM Try firefox in safe mode to rule out this being extension related. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode (quite possibly related to an old version of the "single window mode" extension.)

Safe mode solves the problem Some extensions uninstalled and installed later (as update lost track os some of them) it's working again. Thank's for pointing it.

Yes, that solved the problem. So this will have to be part of a ReadMe/FAQ, I
think. Either that, or there will need to be an update of that extension.
