User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20050603 Netscape/8.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20050603 Netscape/8.0.2 I like to generate my HTML pages in FileMaker Pro. The user fills in the form and FileMaker Pro wraps the needed HTML code around the fields. FileMaker Pro uses different carriage return characters for line breaks in text fields and as record separators. When I look at the final web page the line feeds display rectangles. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: Treat linefeeds and carriage returns as whitespace The problem also occurs in Netscape 8.0, but not in Internet Explorer 6

validation tells you you shouldn't use those. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A//homepage.internet.lu/pierrenys/picks.html it occurs in any browser but IE (i suspect it's a dupe, just can't find it)

Netscape is no longer developed. Do you see this with Firefox 3.6.3 or later?
