User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050412 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050412 Firefox/1.0+ In MS Outlook 2003 I can store any type of file in the mail folders together with mail; e.g. PDF-files, .txt files, etc. This is very useful and supports my workflow very well. It would be very handy to be able to do the same in Thunderbird, so that one could store related emails, phone notes, scanned documents, faxes, etc. in the same folder inside Thunderbird. Ideally this should work for both local folders and IMAP folders (if supported by IMAP). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. On Windows drag a PDF-document onto a file folder in Thunderbird Actual Results: Thunderbird does not allow PDF-docs (or other docs) to be stored in the folder. Expected Results: Store the PDF-file (or other file type) in the mail folder.

Thunderbird's default configuration is the Thunderbird profile data is not something a user should be touching, accessing. So I cannot imagine any circumstances under which we would do what is requested here.
