In MS Outlook 2003 I can store any type of file in the mail folders together
with mail; e.g. PDF-files, .txt files, etc. This is very useful and supports my
workflow very well.

It would be very handy to be able to do the same in Thunderbird, so that one
could store related emails, phone notes, scanned documents, faxes, etc. in the
same folder inside Thunderbird.

Ideally this should work for both local folders and IMAP folders (if supported
by IMAP).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On Windows drag a PDF-document onto a file folder in Thunderbird

Actual Results:
Thunderbird does not allow PDF-docs (or other docs) to be stored in the folder.

Expected Results:
Store the PDF-file (or other file type) in the mail folder.
BTW, I am using Thunderbird version 1.0.6 (20050716)

Thunderbird's default configuration is the Thunderbird profile data is not something a user should be touching, accessing. So I cannot imagine any circumstances under which we would do what is requested here.
