Use about:config and set app.update.url to your local patch availability service the .mar files can be downloaded from the mozilla.org mirrors. Possibly a dupe of bug 305392

(In reply to comment #1) > Use about:config and set app.update.url to your local patch availability > service > the .mar files can be downloaded from the mozilla.org mirrors. While this seems to be the bare bone information one needs, I'd suggest to advertise those ".mar" files a bit more in the release info. It seems the update server has to be a HTTP server. Also how could Firefix be set up automatically to use a different URL for downloading updates?
(In reply to comment #1) > Use about:config and set app.update.url to your local patch availability Actually, it has to be app.update.url.override if you're going to do it that way. Updating summary and confirming. This probably won't happen for a while, but we should figure something out and then make some kind of public docs available. mkaply might have some plans for this.

> So this is just a request for a wiki page? As long as the page has content on it :) I did some of this but it is old. http://mike.kaply.com/2007/03/21/deploying-firefox-in-the-enterprise-part-4/ http://mike.kaply.com/2007/03/26/deploying-firefox-2-within-the-enterprise-part-5/
