Every time I send an attach larger that 400k it times out.

When I send an attachment of greater than 400k, I get a message that says the the SMTP has refused to send the message, but I can send it with the same SMTP with Eudora.  It only happens with an attach.

Reproducible: Always

1.Send a mail with an attach of 400k or larger.

Expected Results:  
Send the message.
do you have a virus scanner active? It's probably slowing things down. You can try increasing the timeout in tools | options | advanced | general.

Thanks a million, David.  Upping the timeout to 120 seconds and turning off outgoing virus scanning did the trick!

You guys are really a class act!

My guess is that one or the other would have been sufficient, i.e., turning off the outgoing virus scanner, or increasing the timeout - I don't think you should need to do both...
