and check out the bug, also please let process explorer run to see the CPU usage. the bug will start after 5 or 10 minutes of chatting.

thanx for help in advance.

by the way: without java script the chat at kwick wont work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. see description
2.
3.

Actual Results:
see description

Expected Results:
CPU usage at 1 to 5 % as usuals
Please test with Firefox1.5RC3 to see if you still get the bug.
sorry, but i am not going to use 1.5RC3, i had troubles with firefox beta, it had started downloading updates and then again and again... so i had removed it and now i use only firefox 1.0.7

with 1.0.7 i can also use extension, with 1.5 i never could.
You can disable updates in Tools->Options->Advanced->Updates
Extensions can become disabled when upgrading, but maybe you could enable them with right-click context menu in the extensions window item and then choose "enable".
i have installed the extension "No script"

just now my CPU usage in the chat is again 95 % and more...

connected to the chat server is 82.98.71.220

after i disabled javascript for 82.98.71.220, my CPU usage is normal again my firfox is back stable again

unfortunately the chat does not work properly now anymore...

javascript for kwick.de is still allowed anyway.
now i use opera 851, and i dont have problems in the chat anymore, my system is stable all the time, that means its a firefox or one of its extensions bug, i have the following extensions installed:

flashgot5997
zoomy20
imagezoom171
bgmconductor203
tabbrowserpreferrences1287
flashblock132
noscript1132

actually i am not interested to use opera also, but seems i have no other choice since this bug is fixed.

i hope someone of you can try and also find the same bug during the chat at kwick.de, all is german page and you will need simple registration first (its for free, no payment neeeded).
"A script on this page is causing mozilla to run slowly... do you want to abort the script"

afer YES, my firefox is stable again.

but how can i disable that one special script forever ?
zeeshan_de, is this still an issue with Firefox1.5.0.2?
Hi all!

My browser version exhibits similar problem: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13

Process Explorer information about the firefox.exe shows that the thread named
"firefox.exe!jpeg_fdct_islow+0x27afd" has 100% cpu and a high count of context switch delta.

I got the following stack trace for that thread:
