After upgrading from 1.0.7 to 1.5, embedded Windows Media video no longer plays properly on any website I've tried. The control bar across the bottom is gone and the Windows Media right-click menu will not appear. Also, audio is now choppy.

Video plays perfectly in other browsers (Opera, IE) and the controls and menu appear and are functional.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a site with embedded Windows Media video (like gamespot.com).
2. Attempt to watch a video.

Actual Results:
See details.

Expected Results:
The control bar should be visable, the right click menu should function. Video should play without the sound going in and out.

I consider this a major problem. I watch a lot of video online and even if Microsoft is unpopular with open source types, I consider MS' streaming video to be the best option available. I'm might uninstall 1.5 and downgrade to 1.0.7. I'd rather not do this because of possible security problems that may exist in the older version that will not be fixed because it is now obsolete. My other option is to use a different browser but I'd rather not do that.
Reporter: do you still see the problem with current Firefox version?

Also, try the new wmp plugin for wmp9-11 (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player#Installing_the_new_plugin)

Closing old bugs in the Plugins component. We aren't going to track issues in 3rd-party plugins in the Mozilla bug tracker. In addition, support for NPAPI plugins will be removed at the end of this year; for more details see the post at https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/

If there is a serious bug in Firefox, it needs to be filed in the "Core" product, "Plug-Ins" component.
