In Camino trunk builds, I'm seeing sporadic page loading failures, possible related to the fact that I'm option-clicking the links to download them the first time. Steps: 1. Clear your cache. 2. Go to http://www.smfr.org/ 3. Option-click on the MT-NewsWatcher link (or any of the other links). 4. Specify a location to save. 5. Note that the download fails; Camino shows an error dialog, and dumps: 2006-01-15 19:49:56.723 Camino[2989] Download failure code: 804B001B 6. Try simply clicking on the link to load the page. This fails, and I see this failure message in the content area: Cannot Complete Request The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I should add that a shift-reload makes the page load again. Maybe a cache issue?

Simon, this sounds a little like the issue in bug 324363, but you're not claiming the pages are gzip-encoded at all. I also tried this with a Minefield build and could not repro (I could repro easily with CaminoTrunk), so I wonder if this is just more of our busted header sniffing here rather than a Core bug...? The error sheet text in the dowloads window is seems familiar from bug 309879 (and see also your bug 309879 comment 14, where we hit the Cancel(NS_ERROR_INVALID_CONTENT_ENCODING) codepath (which sounds like the error page we get on subsequently trying to load the page).
