every time site is visited.  does this on many other sites as well.

It even crashes if I telnet to a remote linux box and run mozilla on the local display.  ** Not only that ** but BOTH the remote running mozilla AND the local mozilla close - even though the local running mozilla just displaying a single tab of bugzilla to enter this report !!

Other web browsers do *not* crash when visiting the site.

Can your mozilla view the site without crashing?  If so maybe it's my video card or something.

I tried turning java off etc.  Not helpful.

There is a gray rectangle "Java ist:" and after loading Java that should be followed by a red rectangle "AKTIV!".
There is a 3d-Cube below, click on it and move the mouse, it should rotate as you move. Presss Ctrl and move the mouseptr from one square to the next one, and a slice of the cube will rotate.

Does your browser work on that page, or crash on loading, or later?

Mozilla 1.4 and later, and Mozilla Firefox, are compiled with gcc 3.x. A gcc 3.x compatible version of the Java plugin must be used. JRE 1.4.2 and later contain a compatible plugin.

If you install your JRE in a different way (self extracting package, debian package, etc), libjavaplugin_oji.so will quite likely be in a different location. Do not just blindly use the command listed above!

Always make a symbolic link, as shown above, instead of copying the plugin. If you copy the plugin, your browser will crash every time you open a page containing a Java applet. You have been warned!

If you are using an older Linux distribution, you may need to install the gcc3 support libraries, as the gcc 3.2 version of the Java plugin requires libgcc_s.so.1 to operate

Resolving WORKSFORME. Anyone sees this bug on a current build, please file a new bug.
