User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 The Clear private date window (from Tools) always shows the "Cookies" checkbox unchecked (unless I explicitly check it). This seems rather odd to me as I can't imagine something more private than cookies that I would want to clear. If I check the cookies checkbox and close the Clear private data window (or press the CPD Now button), upon a second opening of the CPD window, the cookie checkbox is still unchecked. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Clear Private Data Window, check the cookies checkbox and press Clear Private Data now. 2. Browse some more, make sure to aquire some cookies (just about any site) 3. Go again to the Clear Private Data window from Tools. Actual Results: - Upon first, and every other opening, the Cookies checkbox is always unchecked. - Even if a precedent action checked the Cookies checkbox, it will still remain unchecked upon further opening of the Clear Private Data window. Expected Results: I would expect the cookie checkbox to be checked by default or, at least, the Clear Private Data window to remember the last usage and keep the same checked/unchecked status.
I was able to replicate this problem on the following configuration: Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060122 Firefox/1.6a1 OS: Windows XP Pro SP 2 I opened the Clear Private Data window, unchecked the "Cache" checkbox, and pressed "Clear Private Data Now". I opened the Clear Private Data window a second time, and the "Cache" checkbox was checked once again. It looks as though the preference for this setting (and possibly others in the dialog?) is also not persisted.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060123 Firefox/1.6a1 WFM in trunk, branch and in the 1.5 release. With two different cookies settings (keep cookies "until they expire" and "until I close Firefox".

Could you have added this pref. to user.js causing it to overwrite prefs.js each time FF is started?

One WFM, one possible cause with no response from reporter of Jennifer --> INCOMPLETE. if you still see this problem with Firefox 2 please reopen this bug. Thanks!
