1. Run any query from query.cgi (or a saved search) 2. Visit one of the bug from the list 3. Click "Show last search results" 4. Click "Edit Search" Results: All the initial criteria of the query have been lost and query.cgi only displays a list of the bug IDs. I'm pretty sure this is a dupe, but I cannot find the original bug. Or maybe the bug I'm thinking about was about another topic related to saved searches.

This has always been this way, and I'm not sure there's a way to fix it. When you do "Show last search results" it's not running your search again. It's listing the bugs that were matched by your last search. As such, your "search" is now searching for that list of bugs, not your original search. Doing "Edit Search" after doing the "Show last search results" you should notice the "Include only bugs numbered" field should have a list of bugs in it.

(In reply to comment #1) > Doing "Edit > Search" after doing the "Show last search results" you should notice the > "Include only bugs numbered" field should have a list of bugs in it. I noticed it, and that's not the query I ran. So this list of bugs is not what I want to see edited.

it's actually a useful hack for getting a static list of bug# from a query

this bug needs a fix. If I search the bug list for some string, then want to do a different search I want to know what I searched on last time. At present I have to make notes on what I did each time I search. "edit search" should allow me to edit what I searched on last time I searched.

There's a way to fix it--we could store the query string of the search instead of the bug numbers.
