When running the program, the memory usage starts at 37MB and gradually climbs to 53MB when more windows are opened. While switching between windows, there is a 2 second delay and after closing all the windows, the memory is not released back to the OS.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Firefox
2. Look at memory through task manager
3. Open two new windows
4. Look at memory through task manager again
5. Have to end process in task manager to reclaim memory
Actual Results:
System returned back to normal after completing step 4.

Expected Results:
Between low and average memory usage when having multiple windows open. Also to automatically release the memory after all the windows have been closed
Just a little update. On step 5, I sometimes have to use task manager to reclaim the memory.

Reporter, we can't do anything with this bug-report. The reported memory usage is actually normal (type "about:cache" in your URL bar, and you see the memory-cache). See bug 320915 for more information. If you want to try to track down what's leaking, see http://dbaron.org/log/2006-01#d20060114 . And don't rely on task manager - the "memory usage" column is not good for this use, it does not indicate the amount of memory allocated, despite the name.

The only problem is that your application doesn't seem to be close when you try to stop it. It's not caused by "not releasing memory", but because the application hangs. I can only suggest you to look closely at the extensions that you have loaded (try starting up in "safe mode" to see if it still occurs).
