Works for me.
Can you reproduce this in safe mode? (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode)
When does Firefox crash? Is it immediately after you press the button to upload the file, after you press the button to choose the file, or a while after both?
Can you save the page on which Firefox crashes and attach it here please?

useless strace of run-mozilla.sh

please don't post straces unless someone explicitly asks for output from /usr/bin/strace.

we want a stack trace which has no relation ot an strace.

got to know the exact steps to reproduce and yes i am able to reproduce this even in safe mode. I would not be able to attach the web page though.

it's a text box and the property of the text box is that when i type the
username i get my full name, as soon as i type the name firefox crashes. The last thing that i saw on the console is "
/install/firefox-1.5.0.1/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 18536 Segmentation fault      "$prog" ${1+"$@"}"

<snip>

       <input type="text" name="assigned_to" id="assigned_to"
       value="natraj"
        onchange="checkRadio(document.changeform.knob, 'reassign')"
<snip>

this only happens on a linux machine and it dosent on windows machine.
OK. Did you submit any Talkback reports about this? If so, can you post the Talkback IDs here please? (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback)
Keywords: crash
Summary: firefox crashes every time i try to upload a file. → Crash uploading to megaupload.com
Version: unspecified → 1.5.0.x Branch
even talk segmentation faults when i try to capture an incident
Is this an official Mozilla build of Firefox, or is it distribution-specific? (Or custom?)
i was not detailed in explaining what happend with talkback.

I launch talkback from the components path and then when i click details talkback segfaults, i guess this all together a different issue. but the basic problem is i have enabled talkback when firefox crashes i dont see talkback being invoked.

Note: firefox vervion 1.5.0.1 running on fc3 on kernel "2.6.12-1.1381_FC3smp"

please let me know if you need any more info
OK. How would you feel about compiling Firefox from source with debug symbols and giving us a better backtrace?
sure no problem please can you point me to a faq or readme i would be doing it
"ac_add_options --enable-debug" should be fine i guess please allow me 1/2 and hour and i would be doing it..
