Steps to reproduce:
- Open Places, open Subscriptions
- With at least two subscriptions present, first click one on the bottom. You'll see the pages not only open in tabs, but the feed expands also in the Places window.
- Then middle-click one on top. Suddenly the expanded items on the bottom disappear and they go on appearing on top.

Expected behaviour: should not expand in Places if the items are already opened in tabs. And certainly not in the wrong direction.

I'll attach a screenshot to illustrate what I mean.
I resummarized a little, because I think the problem is different. It's not that the folder is being _expanded_, rather: when you visit a page you've never visited before, while the places window is open and subscriptions is selected, the history entries for the visit to that page are shown in the view.

e.g.

1. open the browser
2. open places
3. select 'Subscriptions'
4. in the browser window, type in a new URL or navigate to a page
5. note that that page gets added to the list in subscriptions, even though it isn't a subscriptions folder!

I think this is a view updating/filtering issue.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
