User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 The URL entered above: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/start.xhtml displays all MathML parenthesis correctly except at mid page (equations appearing after text: "or other complex markups like these") which appear as question marks. Question marks being the xml indicator that the document contains unknown markups. As I said before, all paranthesis before this equation and after are correctly displayed. Netscape handles everything correctly as does Internet Explorer (though IExplorer has differing style handling). Of 4 xhtml documents I authored, which were written and debugged with my previous Firefox version (which one I forget) and were correct for over 6 months, only one has the same above mentioned problem with parenthesis in mid document. Markup source text on either your or my pages show no incorrect syntax or structure, Firefox version 1.5.0.3 probably has an erroneous document object tree when interpreting xhtml documents. As an interesting aside, and very puzzling to me, is that I left my xml page displayed on my PC while taking a break after trying to find the bug in my MathML coding. When I returned to my PC some 3 hours later, which was untouched by anyone and not on any network or online anywhere, the page had somehow refreshed itself AND displayed everything as it should! have tried to reproduce this "self-correcting" behavior to no avail, still getting question marks instead of parenthesis. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run your MathML page: www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/start.xhtml 2. run an affected MathML page of my own. 3. runs correctly on Netscape and Internet Explorer. Actual Results: just run mentioned pages on Firefox 1.5.0.3. I wrote and debugged my own MathML documents on a previous version of Firefox and it was working. Expected Results: correct display of parenthesis on MathML equations. I can dust off Netscape and use it, or Internet Explorer (MathML on IExplorer is really ugly) but I use Firefox ALL the time now and it would be more convenient. This report is just to see if you know anything about this bug. I only use my MathML pages about every two or so months. If it isn't affecting anyone else (does'nt seem to be a problem except for me) then I'll just work around it. Big Deal.

No problem here with Firefox 1.5.0.4 on Linux. I get a warning about having to install some Mathematica fonts. The page displays nicely anyway, including the equations after "or other complex markups like these". No questions mark there. Is this bug still appearing with 1.5.0.4 on your machine? Otherwise please resolve. Michael
