if we could bump up another 10-20% they would be the same physical size as the buttons on the kjam, which are much easier to see and use.

K here is a version rebuild the skin from the SVG sources, used bottom icons at 32x32 pixels, and homebar resizes to 22x22 pixels. Pref icons at 48x48 pixels.
