Subject to justdave's approval, I'd like to create a new component in the Bugzilla product, called "Libraries".

Description: This component is for code changes that only affect libraries. If you aren't a Bugzilla developer, you probably never need to file bugs in this component.


We have a lot of bugs that have to do with Libraries, and I'd like to take them out of Bugzilla-General.
Also, we should say "libraries (.pm files)" in the Description, instead of just "libraries"

Does this component really make sense now that globals.pl has been removed? What kind of bugs would you imagine in this category? The only ones I can think of are about implementing object creation and methods.

Personally, I don't care too much as I never look at components anyway. ;)

Off-topic, I would prefer a "Distributed installations" component for all stuff related to communicating between several Bugzilla installations.

  Yes. We still have possibly 50-100 bugs that would go into this component.

  Think about all the Bugzilla::Bug bugs that just have to do with mucking around with Bugzilla::Bug. Or, for example, my creation of Bugzilla::Object would have gone into that component. I didn't ask for this componet for a long time, because it didn't seem like it would be used frequently. But I see a bug, or file a bug, that I want to put in this component at least once a week or more.
Is this still wanted?
