Every country has own special holidays, some firms have special days. I guess we should provide to mark these days on calendar. We can have predefined types of special days like holiday and we can allow to add own types. Probably interface should be js methods of calendar xbl binding, idl interface, rdf file or something else. Is there opinions?
Maybe when web forms decides what it wants to do with its own date types, we can move the calendar out of xforms to make it a standard browser widget for xhtml and xul documents. Then we can really open up with requirements on it :=) For now I'd say it is beyond the scope of XForms. If someone wants to donate the work, though, I don't know that I'd say no to it unless it was some kind of performance/size problem.

Especially if our calendar will be moved into browser widgets (though it seems to me the first pretender is sunbird's calendar now). Therefore we should polish our calendar and request on moving into browser :). I'd like to work on it but for sure I need your help and advising.

Is this for Sunbird? Because I don't see this as part of the mainstream applications (Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, etc.) - maybe as a localization (?) extension. It sounds very country- or region-specific... In any case I see this as a very low priority item. Nice to have, but compared to many of the other things to do, not something to take on right away.

Later I guess xforms will be used for web services and there it will be useful too. Therefore it needs for firefox too. One the one hand it's country or region specific issue and therefore it's localization. On the other hand application that are used in some profit-making organization will wants to have own holidays and here it's not localization already I guess. I can agree it's UI sugar but in any way I'd like to work on it. Just I need help to figure out how it should work.
