Please retry with a new profile and a new Firefox installation. To get rid of the previous installation, just delete the folder Mozilla Firefox, presumably in Program Files. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder

reporter, are you using the same profile switching back and forth between trunk and branch builds? if so this may be related to bug 332972.

reporter, Do you still see this problem. If you do not, please close the bug with resolution WORKSFORME, INVALID, etc as may be appropriate to your situation (but not FIXED unless you know the bug with the patch). If you still see problem using a current version of Firefox or trunk build, please provide additional detail.

Firefox 2 reached end of life Dec 19 2008. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.20/releasenotes/ If the problem still remains in that version then you can try Firefox 3, but then you'd have to upgrade Windows first because Firefox 3 does not run on Windows 98. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ File a new bug if the problem remains in Firefox 3 or later. Thanks for your report. -> INCOMPLETE
