We're going to be setting up a Hendrix install for MDC feedback gathering and need a newsgroup/mailing list into which it can feed. 

What's the estimated turnaround time to get this set up?

ETA?  Need it for the Hendrix stuff, etc.  (Newsgroups stuff should maybe go into the server-ops queue by default?  Would that help?)

Gerv: does that mean that the "Foundation" has approved this creation?  (See bug 339729 comment 2, I guess.)

I was assuming so since he assigned it to me (that's been the usual practice in the past - Gerv picks a name or signs off on the suggested one then reassigns it to me).

mozilla.mdc.feedback would be the obvious name (to match the current mozilla.feedback).

We're still pretty interested in an ETA, if one is available, so that we can adjust our plans appropriately.

The mail gateway has been created, and the admin password mailed to Deb.  The list is currently hidden, it'll be made visible as soon as the corresponding newsgroup is live on news.mozilla.org.

Newgroup request has been submitted to Giganews.  Based on prior experience it'll probably be a week or two before it shows up on Google Groups.

Hadn't heard anything back from Giganews saying they'd done it, but it showed up in my newsreader just now. :)

I've unhidden the list.

Still waiting to hear from Google, of course.

But this should be sufficient to unblock bug 346299, so I'll go snag it again.
