Does this happen with Firefox 2 beta 2, too?
Summary: I won't be able to turn off my mac unless i manually quit firefox → Must manually quit Firefox each time I log out
This is the closest bug for what has been happening to me as well (Power Mac G5 running 10.4.8) starting with the 2.0 betas. However, I don't think this is tied to logging out specifically. I will invoke cmd-Q or Firefox > Quit Firefox and the window closes. I will then go about my business in another application until I notice the Firefox icon still active in the Dock. Then I have to Force Quit it. The only Add-on that I have added is Flashblock. To replicate: I load 5 tabs: http://joystiq.com http://kotaku.com http://engadget.com http://gizmodo.com and http://mail.google.com I hit cmd-Q, as said before the window closes. According to Activity Monitor, the process has 2 threads running with 0.0% CPU. The process is not responding. !!Note: clearing the cache temporarily fixes this until after a few uses.

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

This WORKSFORME in Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.9a7pre) Gecko/2007072504 Minefield/3.0a7pre It does not seem to be reproducable in more recent Firefox builds and there has been no more recent activity on this bug. -> WORKSFORME
