dates before 1970 might run off our timezone definitions. They get converted to utc. That doesn't seem to be what we want.

It seems that it's a common use case to create birthday events on the day the person was born to help remember how old they are.

Unfortunately this also applies to all-day events (birthdays): they jump to a different date...
can someone pick up this bug?  please?
