Summary: Downlaod manager does not work when a download starts, and is totally empty when manually openning → Download manager does not work when a download starts, and is totally empty when manually opening
I am having the same problem. My download manager was working and I experienced a power surge and ever since then my download manager no longer works. I have run spyware and anti-virus programs and reinstalled but the download manager still does not work.
Same for me on this issue I can not download anything and I have searched for a fix with no luck.
This worked for me:

"Deleting downloads.rdf in your profile might help.

Had the same issue and deleting the downloads.rdf file fixed it.
reporter: do you still see the issue? have you tried with the pointed out delete of downloads.rdf?

this is probably not worth fixing, per the new download manager in Trunk

i'm closing this as incomplete since the original reporter did not posted any news on the proposed solution.

Also, the download manager has been totally reviewed in Firefox 3, so this report has no useful informations atm.
