Crash Data

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061011 BonEcho/2.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061011 BonEcho/2.0

On many occasions, I've opened Bon Echo expecting it to go to my homepage. Instead, the browser's Windows window goes totally blank, and one of those "Windows has to shut down Bon Echo due to an unknown error" messages pops up. Then the program totally crashes.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set Bon Echo's homepage to http://www.cnn.com
2. Close the program
3. Click Bon Echo's shortcut to open the program
4. The browser's Windows window goes blank, an error message pops up, then Bon Echo crashes.

Sometimes following the steps above doesn't produce any problem at all.

Actual Results:
Bon Echo should open to http://www.cnn.com, with no problems at all.

Expected Results:
Bon Echo's Windows window goes blank, an error message pops up, and the program itself crashes.

Dupe of bug 300332?
Keywords: crash
Summary: Opening Bon Echo to homepage causes it to crash...at random. → Opening Bon Echo to homepage causes it to crash...at random. [@ nsBoxLayoutState::nsBoxLayoutState]
Well, the stack looks the same, at least. Maybe we can use this bug to figure out how to isolate the crash, though.

Reporter, does this happen in safe mode? If so, can you disable your extensions one-by-one until you can isolate the extensions (or extensions) that is causing the crash?
I tried that whole "Disabling Extensions method" to try and find a solution, and it didn't get me anywhere.

Just for the hell of it, though, I'll do it again and try to come up with something...if I can.

Okay, I ended up (with the exception of MR Tech Local Install, Talkback & DOM Inspector) disabling all my extensions, enabling them, and, one by one, opening & closing Bon Echo 5 times. In each case, the browser opened up normally. Everything was fine until I got to MR Tech Link Wrapper. I then, to confirm this, disabled it and repeatedly opened and closed the browser over & over again. Again, no problems at all. That wasn't the case when Mr. Tech Link Wrapper was enabled again.

Can anybody else confirm?
I tried reproducing this by installing MR Tech Local Install with Firefox 2 RC3 and using the steps to reproduce in comment 0, but I couldn't crash. Maybe this is Windows only?
Whiteboard: [most likely due to MR Tech Local Install extension]

Ooops! I should've said MR Tech Link Wrapper was the cause, not the other one. (DOH!) Sorry, dudes.

The reporter says this is 100% reproducible -- even with a clean profile.

Martijn, if you have time, maybe you can look into what the extension is doing that's causing the crash?
