I was on foxfie yesterday and a window came up and told me I needed to do an update so I did. Ever since my fox fire does not work properly. I have four icons on my desk top now. I tried to deleat some of them I couldn't. When I click on one of them it takes the web page a long time to pop up and when it does everthing seems to be moved to the right side of the screen so I'm only seeing part of whats on the page. I have no navigation bar on the side of the screen.

Reproducible: Always
Hmm, that's a new one. I don't think the updater does anything to shortcuts on the desktop. Or did you install Firefox on the desktop ?
Summary: four fox fire icons on desk top after doing update non work properly → Four Firefox icons on desktop after update failed
Version: unspecified → 1.5.0.x Branch
no I had one fox fire icon on the desk top and now that I'm back on my computer I have two and the web pages are not working right. I have no scroll bar on the side of the web pages.
Scroll problems are usually fixed by reinstalling the 3rd-party theme.

Webpages not working right can be cured by forcing them to reload (hold down the shift key while clicking the reload button).

No idea why you had four, then two, icons on the desktop.
For the scroll bar and webpage problem: try starting Firefox in Safe Mode - this disabled all extentions, plugins and themes. (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode)

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!
