Using the latest branch Thunderbird builds and the Zimbra IMAP server, I am unable to search user created tags.

From the advanced search dialog I get the alert "the current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: parse error: zero-length content."

If I create a saved search folder or a message view for a tag, both fail to locate any matching messages.

I've tested with mixed and upper case tags. I've tested with messages that have only one tag and messages with multiple tags.

As it stands, tags and Zimbra's IMAP server are mostly useless for me since there is no way to display only messages that match a tag name.

heh, the zimbra server is picky (and correct) - you're not supposed to quote keywords when doing a search. Other servers just allow it.

Wasn't dredd one of our mail servers? What's the meaning in the code?
Dredd was our news server, which had some custom search extensions, which never caught on with other news servers...I think the code was trying to support that extension, which basically took the imap search syntax and applied it to news. But my memory is a bit hazy.

fixed trunk and branch.

verified fixed on the 1.8 branch using the Tbird cand build, version 2.0.0.0 (20070326). I verified on Win Vista. I created several custom tags and an advanced search was able to locate the tags fine. Adding branch verified keyword.
