The purpose of the Agenda tab is to display events and task that happen today or within the next days. The purpose is not to display past events and task. To check for past tasks you can use the dedicated Task tab (Todo tab). WONTFIX?
We have discussed this and decided that this is not what we want the Agenda tab to do in the core product. If you would like to make an extension for this functionality, please be our guest. Marking as WONTFIX
