For privacy concerns, should we add code to remove the old .sqlite file (now that we have changed the name?) maybe fix this at the same way we decide to remove history.dat (see bug #329741)

dietrich writes: "The number of cases is likely so small, and the nature of the afflicted users is such that I'm not sure the privacy concern is large enough to justify the cruft code nor the extra filesystem hits at app startup.

That said, we can never be too paranoid or protective of user data. If we do remove the file, I vote we don't do it at startup"
Depends on: 329741
WONTFIX, re-open if you think that this is a concern. The potentially afflicted profiles would be either Fx2 Places users or pre-Fx3A1 developers who enabled places in their build.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
