Doesn't happen with any other brozer including safari. Only Firefox causes system to be overly taxed and make the system fan buzz very loudly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. load browser
2. go to gmail or any mail site
3. if I load AOL mail, starts buzzing fan almost immediately, doesn't even wait a minute

Actual Results:
FAN buzzes really loud and machine gets really hot

Expected Results:
the powerbook G4 is a silent machine and I just made a fresh installation still have the same loud fan and very hot bottom

run silent like safari... it is forcing me to stop using firefox and it took me almost a month to figure out what was causing the buzzing, firefox is the last thing I though of

Reporter, what are the extensions that you are running. Does it also happen in Safe Mode (see <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode>) ?
Yes. It happens in safe mode as well even when all extensions, etc. are disabled and restored to fset.

I have tried everything and for some reason the fan and heat on the bottom goes crazy on both my ibook g3 and powerbook g4.
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

Even with the latest firefox 2 and with the newest Macbook I still see the problem although I have to open more than 3 or 4 tabs to instigate it.

My Safari browser takes almost no system resources even with lots of tabs open and doesn't tax the fan at all.

When I am using firefox the bottom of machine gets burning hot.

Thanks
