- In this low window, there are message from Thunderbird, a click on a link will not open my current browser Firefox, but Internet Explorer which is not my current internet browser. I want my Firefox back !

For 1/ use View->Layout and uncheck Message Pane
2/ check that Firefox is your default browser (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_browser)

Next time you need some help feel free to ask on mozillazine forums (http://forums.mozillazine.org/) or irc (http://irc.mozilla.org/)

For 2/ you are right my prefs were changed without my consent (!), probably by IE7 install.
For 1/ you are not right : its else a bug, else a very unfriendly new feature ! Message panel is uncheked and mail window is still splited and thunderbird do not hold new settings.

You should try with a new profile, perhaps your profile is corrupted or some extension shows the Message Pane back.

I forgot the url : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
Thanks, that was a nice try. Profile probably corrupted ,even if I didn't do anything in thunderbird. After I create a new profile, the mail window hold the settings if reduced ... but I am unable to get my accounts and mails back so it's quite useless, I had try all I have find in "Migrating settings to a new profile" on MozillaZine. I don't understand and I'am no computer engineer, so I will live with that stupid splited window.
Hum, once you have the new profile (and know where the old one sits) you have to copy some files from the old one to the new one (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Migrating_settings_to_a_new_profile "Mail and newsgroups" for the list of file)
