User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070106 Camino/1.1a2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070106 Camino/1.1a2 On this page, I was able to download the smaller English PDF file (2.8MB) but the larger one (6.6MB) generated an error that said to check my network connection. I tried several times, always the same error, and was able to download in both Safari and Firefox (latest stable release) in between failed attempts with Camino. Note that I was using the "Download Link Target" option. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. At the url listed, right click on the English Full User Guide (upper right) 2. Select "Download Link Target" 3. Select directory to download and click "Save" Actual Results: Immediately get a download error message. Expected Results: Saved the linked file to the designated location.

What error did you get, exactly? Do you still get the error with a fresh profile? This sounds very similar to the problems in bug 309879.
I tend to think this is actually a problem with the site, or that PDF, not Camino. Camino basically "stops" downloading after 2.4 MB (and then, after some time, says the download is "done"), and actually trying to load the file fails, also. I tried to download the file with curl, too, and curl cut out at...2.4MB. (I resumed the download, and it cut out when it reached 4MB). Safari sort-of "jumped" immediately to claiming that 4MB was downloaded, but then just sat there for a while, and finally it, too, claimed the download was "done". Getting the same error in 3 different network engines points to the site (or file)....

Here is more information: The exact error message is a popup saying 'There was an error downloading the file "lifedrive_handbook.pdf" The download failed. Check your network connectivity and the download folder, and try again.' I am running the Jan 6th Camino build (not sure what "fresh profile" refers to). I can download with Safari and Firefox every time. It works under Camino with my iMac which is direct connected to my cable modem. It does not work with Camino on my MacBook, which is connected via the iMac (wireless) and also has OS X's File Vault security option running. So it may be a latency issue?

Summary: Cannot download larg PDF files → Cannot download large PDF files
Charles, get http://pimpmycamino.com/parts/troubleshoot-camino and then drag your Camino onto that app to run it using a fresh profile.

I now believe this is a Mac OS X problem having to do with the Internet sharing feature. It impacts more than just Camino, including larger iTunes downloads.
