spun off from bug 29016: it's been around since build 2000.03.28.10. 1. bring up context menu or Bookmarks menu from toolbar. 2. click on one of the native menus, eg, File --result: context menu (or Bookmarks menu) disappears. this sounds fine so far. 3. click again on a native menu --result: menu does *not* drop down. 4. click a 3rd time on a native menu --result: the menu *does* drop down. i would think that the click at step 3 (the 2nd click) would actually drop down the native menu.

well, as simon and i discussed in the last bug, context menus behave this way on the mac (which is why we went this route). I'd say this won't be fixed any time soon. will mark wontfix unless someone really disagrees.

for me, the menu _does_ drop down on the 2nd click, which is the behavior we intended (like context menus). i don't know why it doesn't work that way for you.

heh, methinks i found the problem: i use a Kensington TurboMouse trackball, so for some reason its basic single click is not being recognized properly. confirmed by doublechecking this with the default hockeypuck mouse for my G3, and the native menu did come up on the 2nd click. *sigh*

yeah works fine for me on MacOS 8.6 with 2000042109 and my run-o-the-mill mouse. Could we change the summary here to closer reflect what we believe the ral problem is?
