368925 - Setting the "Junk" flag causes unread email to flicker between read and unread states

This is for an IMAP account created with a new profile.

When clicking the Junkmail flag to mark an unread message in my inbox as junk, it flickers. The entry quickly changes from bold text, to normal text (read), back to bold, and then finally to normal text again. [I have the preference enabled to mark junk as read.]

I also have the "wait __ seconds before marking marking a message as read" set, to 1 second, but it doesn't seem like that should active here. The flickering starts immediately.

This mainly seems to happen when I click the flag for a message without having selected that message.

Also, what junk settings are you using: move to an IMAP junk folder, to a local junk folder, or leave message in Inbox?  And, which IMAP delete model is selected?

FWIW, I just tried testing this with 2b2-0131, with Move Junk to Local Junk Folder, Manually-Junked Messages Marked Read.  IMAP account on fastmail.fm.

And when I clicked the junk column of an unread message, it just got marked as junk with no further action: not marked read, not moved.
