As mentioned over in bug 369830, the locale code is likely wrong.

Not that Aranese really has a locale code, as far as I can tell.

gsc sounds more reasonable, from reading the Occitan bug (which will likely need some change away from Occitan, too).

Hi Javier,

One question. Do you think that the Aranese translation you are planning could also be suitable for most Gascon-speakers, apart from Aranese ones?

--
Una pregunta. Creus que la traducció aranesa que estàs planejant podria servir també per a la majoria de parlants gascons, apart dels aranesos?
The Aranese have very diferences with the gascon, because the new words in Aranese are hispanicized.
--------------

I think gsc is correct, but i prefer to use gsc-ES. You can choose at your own
criteria

On behalf of the Mozilla Project, I'd like to apologise for the delay in processing this request. We very much appreciate offers of help in localization.

If anyone reading this is still interested in helping to translate one or more Mozilla products into the language that this bug is about, please add a new comment to this bug to confirm your interest, saying again which products you would like to localize e.g., Firefox, Thunderbird. We will then make the necessary arrangements.
ok.
I am interested in translating Firefox to the Aranés.

I have translated version 1.0 and I try to export it later them to save work.
I'm still interested for translating Firefox and Thunderbird into Occitan (Lengadocian).
Oooops, sorry about my last message, it has nothing to see with the Aranese :-(
Javier: Great :-) You need to read this wiki page:
http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Starting_a_localization

Create yourself a wiki page for your localisation, which registers you as the team for that language. Then, follow the instructions on the wiki to produce a language pack you can distribute through addons.mozilla.org. Once you have reached that stage, we can consider your pack for official status - although I should warn you that this is a separate process with its own complexities. Still, the community will still be able to get your pack from addons.mozilla.org in the meantime.

If you have read carefully and find the documentation isn't good enough in any way, please let us know and we will improve it.

Yannig: please comment in the bug for Occitan, or create a new one if there isn't one.

Gerv
For reference, gsc has been retired, http://www.sil.org/iso639%2D3/documentation.asp?id=gsc. We should use oc-aranese, I guess, from my current understanding of rfc 4646. I'll need to confirm that still, though, comments welcome.
Javier:

Due to the lack of recent activity on this bug, we are going to resolve it as "incomplete". If you choose to restart translation activity, then no problem at all. Please notify the l10n-drivers team using the l10n mailing list (dev-l10n@lists.mozilla.org) and file a new bug in Bugzilla. That bug should indicate that you are interested in translating the upcoming version of Firefox, which is 3.1 right now.

All the best,
SethB
