(Whiteboard: [HTML served as text/plain])

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3

Firefox appears to display unparsed HTML when clicking an item in "My eBay" on the eBay network. It displays the page as what would seem unparsed, as opposed to rending the HTML and redirecting to the eBay item in question.

If you do need more information (such as hardware configuration and software setup) you are welcome to contact me.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to My eBay at http://www.ebay.co.uk
2. Click on any item in My eBay (such as bidding, watching, selling)
3. See the page of text that follows
Actual Results:
A page of "text" appears, although it is unparsed HTML, I have provided the text below:

"<html><header>
<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='1; URL=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250100609868&rd=1&rd=1'></header>
<script language='Javascript1.1'>
<!-- begin script
location.replace('http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250100609868&rd=1&rd=1');
// end script -->
</script>
<NOSCRIPT>Please click <a href='http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250100609868&rd=1&rd=1'> here</a> to view the item.<p></NOSCRIPT>
</html>"

Expected Results:
Firefox should redirect to the correct page, as that is what the HTML redirect code is saying.
Are they serving the page as text/plain instead of text/html? You can check under Tools > Page Info > "Type:" field.
Does it work in IE?
IIRC, I saw a similar report a while back that turned out to be
virus protection software that caused the problem...
Yes, it works when browsing with IE.

The page is served as text/plain.
This seems to work for me. But if some of eBay's servers are delivering as text/plain then its an issue that eBay would have to fix.
Yeah, this is almost definitely on eBay's end. You should report the problem to them. Assuming you can still reproduce this problem with a new profile (to ensure that it's not on your end, which is doubtful), this bug is probably INVALID.

If the page is served as text/plain then it should be rendered as plain text.
If IE displays it as HTML then the bug is in IE.
