If a folder with existing sub-folders is selected as a favourite, then only the parent folder is available as a favourite, not the children sub-folders. If the sub-folders are individually also selected as a favourite, they are available as a favourite but not with the sub-folder tree structure maintained in the favourite views. This causes a problem if there are sub-folders of multiple parent folders with the same child name because it is not possible to identify which folder is which in the favourite folders view.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a folder with sub-folder
2.select parent folder as favourite
3.note that child sub-folder is not copied to favourite folder view

Expected Results:
Expected to get sub-folders taken with correct parent-child relationship into favourite folder view when parent selected as folder.
Yes, this would be handy. Didn't find a dupe, so confirming.

I can't understand how this can be a bug. A folder is a folder. A subF is a subF. If marking a folder favourite marked all subfolders as favourite, I would have reported this as a bug. There is nothing to fix here.

I guess this should be more of a feature request (which I was going to submit before I found this report).

As the last commentor pointed, if you favourite a folder, it does not mean you always want the sub-folders with it (in fact that would be quite annoying). However it is also true that sometimes you do, and the way this is currently handled is not ideal (which I believe is the reason for the original report).

What would be really handy is the possibility to have a "per folder" (as opposed to global) setting that allows you to include the subfolders too in a favourite folder (in a tree / collapsible way). The setting could be activated either at the point when you favourite a folder, or within the favourite pane (or both), I'm not sure what would be the best approach here.
