Would like to get http://celebnamer.celebworld.ws/stuff/mod_xsendfile/ installed on remora.stage for testing of a hopefully somewhat faster file sending method! Need to compile it, but it was completely painless, I can provide a binary(compiled on CentOS) if you like.

It doesn't look like this supports mod_php. Maybe I am missing something. Version 0.9 * New configuration directive: XSendFileAllowAbove * Initial FastCGI/CGI support * Filter only added when needed
What do you mean by "supports mod_php"? It's a distinct apache module that we can use from our PHP code by setting a header in the output. Works fine when the header is set from PHP from my reading (and I believe sancus' testing).

Ah, I did not know he had tested this. It seemed to me that if it would need fastcgi support it would probably also need mod_php support.

Yep I've tested it, it doesn't need mod_php support and worked fine on my centOS install with the regular php 4.3.9 package.
