User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0 Using Thunderbird 2.0 I have tried to send emails with the Spellchecker enabled. It keeps coming up with 'blank space' ( i.e. nothing )in the " misspelled word" and "replace with" boxes, but won't proceed from there. You have to press the 'send' button to send the email, but it goes off without any 'real' words being checked. In other words it is only seeing a 'blank space' as a misspelled word but nothing else, however, it won't accept this 'blank space' as a legitimate misspelled word. Also, trying to import a foreign Dictionary doesn't work either, it goes through the motions but when you check to see if the 'new' Dictionary is there, it isn't. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create an email with or without a deliberately misspelled word 2. enable Spellchecker on outward emails 3. send email Actual Results: Spellchecker opens up with a BLANK SPACE as the Misspelled word and the choice of replacement. Only clicking on the 'send' button has ANY results ....... the email gets sent ....but no actual words have been checked. Trying to download a foreign Dictionary, the procedure appears correctly, but when the 'dictionaries' are checked, only the default 'English US' is there. Expected Results: real misspellled words would be checked ...... and the foreign Dictionary downloaded and operational.

A bug must be valid and have associated code checked in in order to be FIXED. This has most certainly not had code checked in let alone a patch attached and reviewed. Please comment instead of changing status if you're in doubt. Also see http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Bug_writing_guidelines and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html

For Thunderbird 2 please install a dictionary from here -> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/browse/type:3 How to Install in Thunderbird 1. Right-click on the "Install" Link and choose "Save Link As..." to download and save the file to your hard disk. 2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, open Add-ons from the Tools menu. 3. Click the Install button, and locate/select the file you downloaded and click "OK".
