381931 - Miminimo disabling of choice of imput method affects other applications

Minimo apparently disables any choice of input method other the keyboard on an Axim x51v. Unfortunately, in all other applications, the choice of input method is also disabled, and the keyboard that pops-up in Minimo and other apps covers the menu at the bottom of the screen preventing access to the icon that would close the keyboard as well as other menu choices. One is often stuck, unable to close an app or save one's work, and unable to close the keyboard to reveal the covered up menu bar. 



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hard reset PDA
2. Check input method selection ... it's OK
3. Install Minimo and check again, only "keyboard is enabled"


Actual Results:  
Keyboard covers menu bar at bottom of screen in Minimo and in other applications.

Expected Results:  
Keyboard should leave menu bar at bottom of the screen accessible; also input method restriction to keyboard alone should only affect Minimo, not other apps. 

Uninstalling Minimo and soft resetting PDA doesn't restore ability to select alternate input method; device must be hard reset to restore ability to choose. 

Subject PDA is Axim x51v, Intel PXA270 processor, running Windows Mobile 5 OS5.1.195, Build 14957.2.3.1

Don't know if it's an Axim-specific problem or affects other PDAs.

minimo component is now closed and the minimo project isn't going to be supported.  New work has started on a new mobile effort.  Please see schrep's posting for more info.  We hope you will be involved.
