Adobe has a pre-release builds of their new flash 9 player up at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer9/.

After installing the builds from there on an OS X machine with a current trunk build (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.9a7pre) Gecko/200707030404 Minefield/3.0a7pre), some flash components no longer have their internal movies interact properly with user clicks.

The main way that this can be seen is by watching a youtube video. The video on the page will load and play but none of the flash-based UI for the youtube player works. The user cannot change the volume, pause the player, or otherwise use UI elements. Sometimes hyperlinks work but that is it.

I checked this with Windows builds with both the prerelease and current Flash 9 with no problems. This problem only occurs on the Mac builds. I also checked with 2.0.0.4 on the Mac and there is no problem with either flash player. It is ONLY with the new prerelease Flash 9 player from the site above and with a trunk build that it does not work correctly. I installed the May 9th nightly trunk build and the problem reproduces there as well so this issue, if it is a Firefox issue, has been there for a while.

The date on the Flash 9 build (which is in the filename of the .dmg file) is 061107.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Install a trunk build on an Intel OS X box (haven't tried Power PC)
2. Go to http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer9/, download the current Flash 9 player there and install it.
3. Go to http://www.youtube.com and select a video.
4. Attempt to pause the video or change the volume of it.

Result: UI controls for the video do not respond to attempts to interact with them.

This is exactly my problem, even with the latest release version of FF 3. A Tip: If you shake your mouse a bit while the cursor is over the button and click a lot sometimes a click-event gets send to the flash-player...but still frustrating. I switch back to FF2 until this gets fixed.
Agreed, mousing over the video does not bring up its interface as it should. I concur that clicking repeatedly will get through to the player. I'm using flash player 10 though, not 9. Initally flash 10 works well, but the above problem appears over time.
Resolving old bugs which are likely not relevant any more, since NPAPI plugins are deprecated.
