saw this running mozilla on linux [opt, 2000.05.11.09]. unable to repro w/the commercial bits on winNT. (unable to test on comm linux due to bug 38953.) grace, is this known already? not sure if this an issue w/Preferences or Profile Manager. (or expected behavior, at that, for mozilla at least.) 1. start mozilla. 2. when Select User Profile dialog appears, click Manage Profiles to get Profile Manager dialog. 3. click Create Profile, follow steps to create a new profile. 4. select the new profile to launch. result: the home page is the page last viewed in the last session (with an existing profile). eg, i last looked at www.mozilla.org in the previous session, so in the new profile's prefs.js there's user_pref("browser.history.last_page_visited", "http://www.mozilla.org/"); user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.1", false); there's no setting for browser.startup.homepage. expected: shouldn't there be some setting for browser.startup.homepage?

not seeing this- doesn't seem to be reading last profile used- using profiles used in commercial testing this am- started mozilla and mozilla.org is startup (isn't that always the case though-as su_setup is the startup for commercial-regardless of pref settings?

Thanks, but profile backend is just a container - we don't interpret the contents. Whoever owns those prefs needs to look at this.

Can't repro with a current commercial or mozilla build on linux from the 2001-05-31-21-trunk directory on sweetlou. Sounds like Grace identified the problem.
