The above testcase can be used to demonstrate that the plugin blocklisting functionality is working. To use it you need to set the preference extensions.blocklist.url to "https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=301878".

The blocklist is normally downloaded once a day however this can be speeded up. If you set extensions.blocklist.interval to 30 and app.update.timer to 60 then the blocklist will be downloaded once a minute, starting a minute after the application is started.

This blocklist performs the following blocks:

Blocks Java and Acrobat on all platforms.
Blocks QuickTime on OSX
Blocks Flash 7 and Flash 9 on Windows.

These cases should be enough to test all of the plugin blocklist functionality.

This meta bug is no longer useful. The one remaining issue it tracks was not implemented for Firefox 3 though hopefully will be soon.
