Right now (post-bug 381647), when authors style selects with colors, they transform into really awful-looking Windows-y gfx boxes. Instead of breaking completely with the platform experience, we should allow (at least for colors) the select to pick up the foreground (text) and background colors while remaining otherwise an Aqua select. (It's possible there are other css properties that can be easily adapted to the general Aqua look, but colors are the most obvious.) WebKit trunk/Safari 3 already does this. I'll re-attach philippe's testcase and screenshot from bug 381647.

In bug 381647 comment 3, philippe also notes IE 7 win32 does something similar.
