We need to create the release notes for the 0.7 release. Main issues: - we need to collect all the noteworthy feature additions that have gone into the release - we need to take a look at the old known issues and see which bugs are still relnote-worthy, which are not and which bugs should be added to that list Links: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/lightning0.7.html http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/sunbird0.7.html http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/common0.7.html

> Due to a user interface redesign, it is now much easier to switch between the > mail and calendar parts of Thunderbird. I'd reverse that sentence. The result is what matters, not how it was archived: "It's now much easier .... thanks to ..." > The new event/task dialog offers a much cleaner user interface and additional > functionality including I just love how "lets enable the prototype dialog for a while to get feedback" has turned into "the new dialog"... > Attendees can be added from a local or corporate LDAP repository it's usually called an ldap directory, not repository. > tar -xjvf sunbird-0.7.en-US.linux-i686.tar.gz Does that command realyl work? I don't have linux here right now, but afaik, the j option is for bz2 files. for gz files, you need to use z

Thanks for your feedback, mvl. I've reversed the sentence about the UI redesign, changed "repository" to "directory" aqnd changed the tar command. The sentence about the event dialog is now: A redesigned event/task dialog has been enabled to gather feedback from the community. It offers a much cleaner user interface and additional functionality including: I hope this is more to your liking.

lightning0.7.html & sunbird0.7.html: * There are several periods missing for the itemized changes although they are complete sentences. * "Custom Recurrences and reminders" -> "Custom recurrences and reminders" * "Non-colliding events are now displayed correctly on days which also have colliding events on them" I think this should be rephrased because a user can't imagine what changed. common0.7.html: * "If you are using Apache Limit or LimitExcept directives you may get 401 errors when modifying events unless you make sure that GET, HEAD, OPTIONS and PROPFIND are not limited. e.g. <LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS PROPFIND>" (bug 380291)" Needless double quote near the end. * "The event box tooltips will lose the last 1 or 2 characters of the longest line on Windows with the Luna theme or some 3rd party theme. (bug 390313>" * "Creating two events or tasks with a length of zero minutes on the same date and on different calendars will lead to only one of those events or tasks being visible. (bug 394004>" Substitute ">" with ")" . :) * There are also several periods missing for the itemized known issues although they are complete sentences.

Thanks Martin! I've incorporated your comments.

> If you are using Apache Limit or LimitExcept directives you may get 401 errors > when modifying events unless you make sure that GET, HEAD, OPTIONS and PROPFIND > are not limited. e.g. <LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS PROPFIND>" (bug 380291) I don't think this is correct and it should be fixed by yesterdays checkin (bug 387559).

> Occurrences of recurring events may disappear when dragging and dropping them.
> (bug 336952)
I could not reproduce this - maybe it is WFM by now and can be removed?

> The Event/Task Dialog will always show times in the operating system timezone > regardless of the chosen timezone preferences (bug 337191) This bug reports against the former event dialog. Is the same true for the dialog we are shipping with 0.7 by default? > Events on WebCalendar servers cannot be deleted through the UI. (bug 371946) The WebCalendar Server probably has an UI as well, so it's not 100 % clear what is meant. Since this is a problem with the server, I recommend to remove it completely. If you disagree, than I propose to change it to "through the client". I vote for adding the "printing fails on the first try"-business (bug 351581) to the release notes.

(In reply to comment #8) >> The Event/Task Dialog will always show times in the operating system timezone >> regardless of the chosen timezone preferences (bug 337191) > This bug reports against the former event dialog. Is the same true for the > dialog we are shipping with 0.7 by default? Yes, the problem will also happen with the new dialog as it's basically nothing the dialog can do about. The underlying problem is filed as bug 328442.

(In reply to comment #4)> common0.7.html: > * "If you are using Apache Limit or LimitExcept directives you may get 401 > errors when modifying events unless you make sure that GET, HEAD, OPTIONS and > PROPFIND are not limited. e.g. <LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS PROPFIND>" (bug > 380291)" In fact, that part can be removed, because the bug is now fixed.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've removed bug 380291, bug 336952 and bug 371946 from the list and added bug 351581.

* Colliding events on a day no longer cause other events on that day to be displayed incorrectly. This is still not easily understandable as the events never were displayed in a blatantly incorrect way. I'm not a native English speaker, but probably this is a bit more understandable: "Events that share time are shrunk so that they fit into the display of a day. This no longer affects other events on the same day." Apart from that, it just looks fine for me. Thanks a lot, Simon.

No complains from me either; well done.

Do you think mentioning the new "Today pane" button may be helpful ? Something like (but in better English ;) ) : "A new button can be added to the toolbar to easily display/hide the pane." Thanks

Should we add a note about several itip/imip functionalities not being implemented yet (bug 396686, bug 379198, bug 348666)?

The Lightning screenshot at the top of the Lightning-specific page is outdated. Should it be updated to the new 0.7 layout ?

Also, bug 314339 should be added, since it didn't make the release.

Please change "lietuviškai" to "lietuvių" when referencing Lithuanian locale. Thanks. :)

I consider this bug FIXED for 0.7. Necessary adjustments (e.g. adding third-party builds) will be made, once those are ready.
