User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: 8.0.0b1 Eudora classic would highlight (underline and make blue) urls it recognized. Of course the urls weren't active in the compose window. This was nice because you could see the message exactly as the user would see it upon receipt. Important that the URL isn't active or it become hard to edit the message - select, cut, paste, place cursor, etc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Seems like it should be fairly simple. As it is now, if you save the message as a draft then open the message from the drafts folder, URLs will be highlighted, so it is probably just a matter of turning on that URL scanner while composing...

I would also add that cE not only recognized URL's that were typed, but also ones that were simply pasted in. This functionality should be supported in E8, as well.
