User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Build Identifier: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-2.0.0.8&os=win&lang=en-US

Was using old version, new upgraded version notice came up it loaded and after that the whole thing would not open. Had to go back to version 1.0.5 or something like that from 2005 now when it opens it comes up with the following: This application has failedto start because "xpcom_core.dll. was not found. Re-inatalling the application may fix the problem. I have tried reinstalling the new version at least ten time and it still refuses to work. I am at my wits end. It also wiped out all my saved passwords and bookmarks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.uninstalled firefox
2.downloaded again
3.same results
Actual Results:
same as before tried at least ten times
It should be there, if you open your installation directory you can see the file.
You didn't need to install multiple times. If you just delete manually the folder Mozilla Firefox in Program Files and install it again, this should be enough.
Then if you start it up with a new profile, do you still see the problem?
