Not sure if this is a bug, but when I use Wnidws programs, I expect certain things to be the same. The F1 key does nothing in Thunderbird. Using Windows standards, it should call help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Thunderbird doesn't as yet have working help documentation, unfortunately; I think the alternative is a link to a website in the Help menu. In the meantime you could probably file a bug against the main Thunderbird UI to get that menu item hooked up to the F1 key, which is more likely to be fruitful in the near future than getting built-in help documentation. I peronsally don't have the time or energy to care enough at the moment, but all it would take would be one motivated person to get an initial push going, I think. :-\
I'm fixing this in bug 373348.
