In nsIDOMFile provide hashes CRC, MD5, etc of the file 

If hashes CRC, MD5, etc of the file can be accessed sites maybe able to avoid an upload if there exist another copy of the file at same site.
And hence save bandwidth and disk space.

An example of this happening is when multiple projects of sane company hosted on a MS-Sharepoint site. Many times templates used by many projects are same.

Another example is when family exchange photos through webmail, when you send to two or more different groups.
