after downloading and installing firefox, double clicking and starting firefox results in a crash bring up mozilla's crash report, after crash report is sent, firefox crashes

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download/install
2. double click to start
3. send error report and click restart
Actual Results:  
crashes without firefox starting up

Expected Results:  
send the error report within 24-48 hrs there should be an update or patch
Are you getting the dialog that asks if you'd like to restore your previous session, or is it crashing before that?
nothing comes up, it brings the crash report box up and says "we will try to restore all taps" but when it restarts even before the "firefox" name is in the menu bar, it crashes

if it helps im on a PPC Mac using OSX 10.4.11, there might have been a software argument with the new apple update... just my thought :-)


I also have this problem ...... infact i could not have so far started firefox 3 beta 1 due to this persistent crashes ......
It doesn't give you a choice about the tabs? Let me cc some people who are more familiar with the new crash reporter than me...  In the mean time, see if a different profile will run - http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles#Mac_OS_X
Matt, the user-agent in your first comment looks like Netscape 9.0.0.3. Did you install that just to submit this bug ? Just want to make sure this is Firefox problem.
Also, if you're submitting bug reports to Mozilla, then you can help out by looking up incident ID's and posting them here in the bug.

yes i had reported from Netscape since FireFox Beta3 R1 crashed

well i went back to look at the security updates they made from 2.0.0.0 all the way up to 2.0.0.9, and in almost everyone is a "CRASH BUG" fixing a memory corruption, i wonder if this could be a cuase?

i tried that many times, even restarting my mac but that did not work on my computer :-( but hey im helping out the "mac" community :-)
